Rehearsals:
First
rehearsal is scheduled for Mon, July 9 at 6:30pm.
We
will announce the detailed rehearsal schedule one week in advance.
Regular
rehearsals will be scheduled Mon.-Fri. 6:30-10:00 p.m. and Sat. and Sun. 10:00 am-5:00 pm. No one will be required to rehearse
for ALL of this time (i.e. people will be split into groups).
A
Note on Attendance:
The
Star Players of Bristol County realize that all performers in “Fiddler on the Roof” are participating on a volunteer
basis. We strive to make all rehearsals productive and worthwhile. In a perfect
world, all participants would be on time and attend each rehearsal requested, yet we realize that everyone has emergency situations,
family and work commitments. We request that all planned absences be scheduled
in advance and happen only during the month of July. Because the music and staging of “Fiddler on the Roof” is
extremely challenging and we work within a very short rehearsal period, we will allow a maximum of 2 excused absences in July. After Sunday August 6, the rehearsal schedule will get very busy and is mandatory
for all participants. All absences after August 6 must be on an emergency only basis and may jeopardize participation in the
show.
A
Note on Costs:
In
keeping with the idea of volunteerism, there will be no production fees or mandatory costs to be in the show. Participants are requested to supply their own shoes, tights (in most cases color specific) and undergarments
(as approved by the costumer). If any individual cannot afford to purchase these items for themselves, arrangements will be
made to fund these supplies. Because we cannot afford full costume/laundry crews,
cast members will be asked to “pitch in” with preparation of their own costumes (i.e. laundry and ironing). It is important to our organization that individuals may participate in “Fiddler
on the Roof” regardless of their economic situation. While we always appreciate
help with selling program ads, obtaining memberships and acquiring donations, all fundraising activities are strictly voluntary
and are therefore greatly appreciated.
